I don't need to know if its the BEST option for my circumstances, I just need to know if it is a viable option. Serato DJ Pro delivers all the features and performance to meet the demands of DJs at the top of their game and sets the new standard for digital DJ software. And the controller came with a year of serato for stupid stupid cheap as a part of the cost. I'm ok with building a song in parts and editing the parts together, I just need a more stable DAW to work with and make my garage rock and I already did the absolute last bit of what I could squeeze out of my budget limitation to get a midi controller so I wasn't praying to RNGesus everytime I used melodyne for midi purposes. Or do I need to consider Serato as a tool to use to smooth out workflow? Would it be smart to try and jump completely into Serato Studio and attempt to break away from cakewalk completely for the rest of this project. Which my project is sort of needing, just with a completely different style of music than what I hear Serato Studio is normally used for. I hear Serato Studio is great at making solid loops, sound editing in a way that is fluid and making beats. Do to my self restricted budget for the project, I've been using cakewalk to edit guitar comps together and build midi drum and bass tracks. I'm doing this DIY on a budget album as a personal project I've become quite invested in.
